David Koch passed away August 23, 2019, at his home in Southampton, New York, with his wife and children by his side.
Julia serves on the boards of Koch Industries and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She's also president of the David H. Koch Foundation, which has made grants in excess of $200 million for science medical research, education, arts, and public policy.
As president of the Foundation, Julia oversees her late husband's legacy contributions that have allowed the following organizations to continue their essential work and pivot their focus to combating COVID-19 through both patient care and medical research:
The David H. Koch Center at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, a critical component of New York City’s medical infrastructure during the pandemic.
The newly opened David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which was recently praised in Architectural Digest for its ability to maintain social distancing of its patients through innovative design.
The Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, which has recently contributed to COVID-19 research and innovations in patient treatment.
